Activity # 23 My Learning Journey

Yes, Yes, Yes, ...................
I finished all the activities, what a wonderful experience. I really learned a lot, and realised how the Internet became advanced and developed much much better.

I would like to take this opportunity to THANK some people who were dedicated at my work place to help us if we stack with unclear task.

I wished if I had enough time to explore, explore, and explore. I used to have a laptop for my study, but when I finished I really felt that there is no point to use my it, so I gave it to my 15 Y.O. daughter to use it for school. I get bored because I only know how to use it for paying my bills on line and check my e-mail, but after this learning, Guss what?, I will buy another laptop to practice what I learned again in my free time at home. I don't think I will get bored anymore, However, my fear is I may use it on and on and on, without paying attention to the time.

The things I mostly like and find it important were Activity #20 - You Tube, and Activity #22 - Audio books - ebooks. they are very entertained and educated. I think everyone in this world will love either one. Zoho Writer is another useful site to know, I found it it is really useful for sharing documents with other selected people for discussion.

I can tell you I loved them all. Each activity has something unique to learn from. Also, the way the Learning 2.0 program planned and managed was a good help for us and made our learning experience enjoyable. I wish you all the best.
Enjoy it and have a Good Luck.

Activity # 22

Woww, Talking about Digital Library ........................
I found this method id delivering the easiest Technology and the best selection of different kind of digital media platform that help customers to download popular digital items. I liked and enjoyed this activity as I found it realy useful to know all about it, especially, when I viewed the "Other Collections - Children's Literature Collection", it has A-Z resource list. When you view any title will take you to the "popular title list" which has realy interested entries to view. Children will get the most of this essential service in the library because children are into the new technology nowadays, they will love to listen and educate themselves if they get involved with technology.

I have done few search, eg "My fair lady" >>> brings any picked up words with "My", "Fair", and "Lady" on each title of the entries, which is good to help researchers with giving them ideas for their searches if the are not sure about the exact title in minds. Also, I like the fact that each entry has a brief info. about the item.

Any way, I liked it and I found it very useful to have this kind of service here in the library.

Activity # 21

Hmmm!!, Podcast, a new experience. ..............

Actually, I liked the it has the Search icon and Podcast Directories to choose from. They cover about every things. Each catecory has sub-catecories which is good to norrow the search, eg, Home & lifestyle >> Pets (one of the interested sub-category) >> then it will lead you to some good things to view.
site is worth to view as well, it is free podcast and it has some good articles about library news.
I think, it will be great if public libraries implement and develop podcasts for clients to listen to a specific seminar if they missed one at University or somewhere else.

I can tell you I loved to view every podcast, but "Time Factor" to be considered.
Enjoy everyone.

Activity # 20

It is very entertaining type of site!! ................

You tube, I like the " search" icon. You can use it for study purposes or a fun purposes though this icon. For Example, I searched for the "Environment" I had some relevant and irrelevant entries like "Save the environment", good comment and rating. Also, I had "Ali G Environment, which is you can ignore or view it for a fun purposes.

I add this video which is about "Public school Vs. Private school", entries like that may be usefully for parents wanted to know or to have ideas for their children's schools. You can view the comments and see the rating.

Also, I always liked the "Embeddable player", the codes of HTML which you can copy and past it on your blog, or in the future if the library can implemented on the Library website.

It is wonderful!! ..................

Activity # 19

Woooooww, It is amazing! .........

I'm sure we all will like this award categories if we can get access to them. I showed them to my children, they love it. My 22 Y.O. son liked the Visual Arts site as part of his study. My 18 y.O. daughter was interested in Web Development and Design as part of her study as well.

All the categories are fantastic to view them. I nominated " Video" category such as You Tube, Daily motion, and Meta cafe. I like the comments and the ratings. I'm interested in viewing videos and explore about what's going on if I want to search about something, e.g. Searching about the "Environment", I found a lot of good videos to view and get the ideas.

I think, they are useful for the public libraries as it can fit with all the ages and backgrounds.

At the end, I went to explore a bit on the Web 2.0 tool Directory, after I was tired, I found myself carried on, and on viewing each one and it is really worth to spend time to explore them.

I'm sure you'll love 'em.

Activity # 18

Oh!.... What a great experience , I learned a lot in this activity! ........
I feel like a fish in an ocean.

I like the fact that I can involve people with any kind of discussion, and that is good for anybody is doing a research and need to involve people opinions .

when I write something I have the option of whether to mark it as "Read only" so no one can make any edit on it, or I can mark it as "Read/Write" so can make it open for every one to make any edit on it.

I like the options on the page for Zoho Writer's. Does any body like it?, and how did you find this page, is it easy to use?. It is open for discussions.

Please you can send your comments. Welcome! .........

Activity # 16

Wiki, Wiki, wiki!!

It is amazing, a new study for me in general.

I learned that Wiki is a website and on-line database, it is info. service which can be open up new possibilities for collaboration between the library and the customers. I found that Wiki is a great format for a subject guide. Also, I like the book lovers wiki which is developed by the Princeton public library. It is open up to the community by rating and reviewing their books, so community can make their own judgement by assessing information - it is opening a debate amongst community. Thus, it is sharing information.

It is interesting that every library can have the ability to develop a web page, add content, and edit its website, to includes as many relevant links as possible. Referring to Peter Blake study of "Using a wiki for info. services: ..." from Australian Catholic University, that when the website open to the debate for the community to edit the page, can enables the library to learn what solutions or strategies are actually in use, and then either provide targeted correction, when the solutions are inadequate or adopt the solution. I can get the idea behind this study that it may work well if we can create a link to the right answer by "See also" page to direct customers to correct information by doing extra search related to this matter.

So why not with these new technology these days.
Love it all.
Cheers.

Activity # 15

Hi Everyone,
Is it great to read about these five perspectives, I can Say .....................................

Wow, Library has changed and will change too much for the future with the new technology.
No books any more in the library ?, I don't think so. E-books, you can even view them on-line using your laptop.

I used to study on-line, I read and read and do my homework using my magic box "My laptop". Laptop looks like my school bag, it has my e-books, e-mails, some library collections and every things I saved in it.

According to the five perspectives, I think our kids will not need to go to school in the future, they can study from home. Libraries will look like school, and library staff/Librarians will be teachers. People all ages will search, chat, playing games, and educate themselves using the Internet at the library. All you need is your magic box/bag "Your laptop" with a wire less to the library to study.

With the new technology like Internet, USB, Ipod, Phone, Camera, and most of it our skills of how to use them, we will create something really good for education.

Good luck people for the good future with technologies.

Activity # 14 Comment

Oh, my God,
My eyes are sore ........................

It is full of technology!!!

The think interested me which is I can see my codes down the page, so when you want to search for some thing you can quickly copy and past it in you blog. It looks like a search engin for me, which you can access all the links about the topic you searched for.

I like the "Advance Search", then I like the "Tags". I found that the results are different when you do search popular blog, searches, and tags.

It is amazing. Is it why it is called "Technorati"?.

Activity # 13

Wow, I created my delicious account at last. It is challangeable kind of activity, but it is usefull skill to have. I think is it just as an easy way to create bookmarks that can be accessed from anywhere.

Activity # 7 - Technology of the week

I felt I'm over the moon when a friend of mine brought her laptop home and made a surprise for me,

"Guss what you talking to [Name] your best freind when you was in high school", she said.
I did't beleive my eyes to see her face on the camera, which has built in the laptop computer, on the Internet.
It was magic. So, I think Internet, computer with camera buit in is a wonderful technology, to see and speak to someone miles away from you.

However, it is scary, we don't know what will happen in the future with Technology!!

Activity # 5

Week3

Hi there,

I found that studying as distance education is a fantastic method with using technology, like computer and internet with e-mail address. Without technology you can study and work at the same time. I found that I have the whole university at my home between my hands. You can read your texts, do your essays, and email your teachers for feedback. Plus other things like chat to your friends you have met long ago in the same study to exchange opinons and suggestions. Also, technology like internet helped me to book my flight to go interstate to met with my teachers for this course, all I needed to do is to pay online through my bank cards, offcouse this is another great technology. In conclusion, Technology like computers, internet, bank cards, and airplane helped me study and work at the same time.

Thank you.

Week1

Hi!,

Regarding these 7 1/2 points, I found that the most difficult point for me is "Obstacles", an example of it, is Time factor. "Toolbox" is not a problem at all. But I found that "Sign it" is a challange, as I have to take my Goal on board. I have not enough idea whether I will be a successfull person or not.

Thank you
